Please be sure to give tickets a description explaining what problem exists or what new feature is needed. In particular, tickets that have no description and just a patch are to be avoided - version control will eventually tell us *what* change gets made, the ticket tracking system should give more details about why the change is necessary.

This particular patch seems to address two unrelated issues:

  • The copyright date in the README includes the year 2012 instead of 2013. This problem is actually fixed automatically by Twisted's release automation tools. As soon as a release is completed in 2013, the date will be correct in the README file. Fixing this manually outside of the release process will create conflicts for the release manager to deal with, so we should definitely not do it.
  • irc.freenode.net is a CNAME for chat.freenode.net. http://freenode.net/irc_servers.shtml suggests that chat.freenode.net is the preferred name. Regardless, both names work. So I don't think this is a change we should make either.
Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
