t.i.stdio docs don't mention not working with the console in windows

The documentation at http://twistedmatrix.com/documents/current/api/twisted.internet.stdio.html mentions that it works on win32, but doesn't mention that it doesn't work if stdin and stdout are attached to the windows console (as opposed to an inter-process pipe).
