Description (last modified by Jean-Paul Calderone)

hello... apperently the twisted framework mpkg for OS X is outdated i downloaded twisted for os x directly from the main page then again from the download page, the instalation went smooth, however when i run my project i get PythonLoggingObserver module not found... i have gotten this error before with ubuntu hardy due to outdated repositories, but i got this straight from the homepage; anyways i knew it was outdated version and im not sure where is that coming from, maybe someone compiled the wrong folder down at MIT? i opened the terminal imported twisted and i ran print on the version, all of this is on my macbook

>>> import twisted
>>> print twisted.__version__

and i got this in return

does os x packages are different? whats the deal here lol

OS X includes Twisted 2.5 on the default Python search path. If you install a newer version of Twisted, you need to configure your environment so that it gets used.

I believe NetSkay might be obliquely reporting a bug in the Twisted-8.2.0_py2.5_osx10.5.dmg package linked from our front page: i.e. that he installed it and expected it would adjust his PYTHONPATH appropriately, and it did not.

Not having used this package myself, I'm not sure what it should be doing or what documentation it has. (If this bug is reopened, it should be reassigned to dreid, not me, as I think he's the only person who has any idea about our OS X packaging.)
