[Twisted-web] Problem running finger program

hi;

i have installed twisted and i know it is working fine because i can run 
shtoom (which uses twisted).  Am trying to use some of the classes to 
right my own program.  I started with the finger tutorial.  I downloaded 
the example  from:
http://twistedmatrix.com/documents/current/howto/tutorial/listings/finger/finger11.py

then did
twistd -ny finger11.py
at the command line, the thing ran, but am not sure what is a good way 
to test it? I am fingering a user locally but that is always returning 
something regardless of the finger11.py program is running or not.  Any 
hints please?
