I think the only point of contention would be if you're trying to modify an
existing piece of code that uses the global reactor, and you need to write
tests for your changes (which are unrelated to the reactor usage itself),
it'd add a lot of overhead to getting your change in.

I whole-heartedly agree with the sentiment, though. We need to get rid of
the global reactor.
