I vastly prefer block-at-a-time compression, now that I've been reminded of it.
It sets a better precedent for other bits of Twisted that want to use
compression.  I imagine that the zlib module is more portable than the threads
module, overall.  Somebody please get a patch to itamar this way first... ;-)
