22-zellchamber

•This isn't the next shot in the sequence -- I'm beginning a new sequence here for the sake of showing another typical set of angles in this game.
•Bird's eye extreme long shot of the party (Squall, Zell, and Selphie) in Zell's house.
•Balamb Village music -- solo acoustic guitar.
•Sound of footsteps as characters move.
•Aside from limits of "space" and occasional interruptions by fixed sequences, the player has control of the character's movement and access to menus.
•Background is static; the camera does not track players as they move. Player cannot move camera.
•Many elements of this shot appear to be out of scale (the guitar, the implied height of the roof of the house).
•The text bar indicates that Squall has come across an object. It and a chime are the only indicators of this.
•Findable objects in Final Fantasy VIII do not seem to appear onscreen, whereas in Final Fantasy VII they sometimes did. None of the objects visible to the eye here can actually be manipulated; they're just scenery. The extent to which objects can be manipulated varies from game to game.
•What this particular object actually is, or whether it exists at all, is put in question by the sarcastic comment. It is not clear to me as a player yet whether or how this type of magazine will be useful.
•I guide the party around the table and out the door to the left.
•Fade to black.
