twisted.positioning's gpsd tests could use a testing-specific transport

Description

These tests currently use a dummy transport. A good alternative would be twisted.test.proto_helpers.StringTransport or StringTransportWithDisconnection.

This ticket is waiting for #3325 to happen, first, once that's fixed we can take a look at this.

I'm not sure I understand this ticket. Why can't these tests use these classes before #3325 is resolved?

gpsd support has been scratched, since gpsd doesn't actually support the protocol being discussed in this ticket anymore. Closing since it's no longer relevant.
