[Twisted-Python] reactor/transport/protocol relationship?

(internet cloud) <---> transport <---> reactor <---> protocol

In the http://www.itamarst.org/writings/OSCON03/twisted_internet-19.html
diagram however, there is a different connectivity. What am I missing here?
